If you are an existing student of Kriya... or if you are just interested...

All Kriyabans (Kriya students) are welcome and encouraged to attend lecture tours conducted by Swami Shankarananda Giri. Swamiji visits twice a year and tours a number of European countries. 

Already initiated?

If you have been taught by myself, by someone recognised by Swami Shankarananda Giri, or by Swamiji himself, then you are free to attend meditation sessions. You should contact the appropriate co-ordinator in the country where you intend to attend. Contact details can be obtained here. Note that there is usually a small charge to help defray the costs of organising venues etc.

Possible new student?

If you have not received training in the technique then you can only attend certain lectures, but not meditation sessions. At some stage you should decide whether you wish to pursue Kriya meditation and learn the technique after which you can also attend group meditation sessions. To learn the 1st Kriya technique, expect to spend at the minimum a very long day with a teacher (either in a classroom type setting or one-to-one, depending on how many students there are) followed up by a few regular practice meditation sessions during the following 1-2 weeks. The cost of training can be found out by contact your country co-ordinator.

Kali Puja Seminar & Wedding Invitation

Kali Puja Tatwa – Kriya Yoga Seminar 17th to 24th October.

According to Eastern, Nirayana, astrological calculations, the Sun will soon be in the constellation of Libra. This marks the low point of the Sun’s movement through the twelve constellations as seen from the earth. When Amavasya, no Moon day, takes place, the Sun and Moon are together in the same sign. This is the darkest night in the solar-lunar cycle as no light is reflected onto earth by the Moon during the dark hours. When Sun and Moon are together in Amavasya in Libra we have the darkest night of the year. This black and empty night which will surround us is symbolic of a quiet and undisturbed state within, a state with no external perceptions. This is the time of year known as Kali Puja when all over India people worship the great black mother Kali.

On the occasion of this auspicious moment a seminar will be held in Orissa in both  Bhubaneswar and Vaishnab Jhuli ashrams on how to transform the darkness into light, the negative into positive. The seminar, held from 17th to 24th October, will explain the metaphorical meaning of your meditation and show you how to utilize this period to get the best effect from your practice as expounded in the two very important, 2nd and 8th, chapters of the Bhagavad Gita.

The seminar will be free to attend, voluntary donations are welcome.

Initiations into Kriya Yoga will also be held during the seminar for those desiring it. 

Wedding Invitation - 30th October

All devotees are cordially invited to attend the marriage of our Norwegian disciple Giriji to be held in Bhubaneswar on October 30th, six days after the Kali Puja event.  Attending the marriage ceremony is free and includes food and accommodation.
